The Great Depression happened in the decade of World War II. It was a severe worldwide economic colapse. In the nations it affected it happened at many different times between the 1930s and the 1940s. The stock markets crashed and the prices on just about everything rose. Many people in different social classes were affected.

Independent Reading Unit
I think I would want to read "Lockdown: Escape From The Furnace" because it seems like it would be the most interesting. I think it is going to be about someone trying to escape from jail or something. My next choice would be "Night Circus" because it sounds the second most interesting.

Bravery and Courage
I think bravery and courage both have something to do with doing things that other people won't even if they don't like it. I think you are brave or courageous if you try to bring positive change to a community even if it is generally a discouraged idea. I think Atticus is the most courageous because he tries to make his kids as aware of their surroundings and make them do things the don't won't to that will better them as people. I think MLK Jr. is a good example of a brave courageous person because he did something that changed America forever and it was discouraged and the penalty was his life.

I think the most reasonable thing to point out would be poverty, a lot of Americans and just people in general deal with poverty. I myself have been fortunate enough not to have to deal with poverty too much during my life except for when I was little, but I can't really remember it so it obviously didn't have that big of a impact in my life. I do have a lot of friends that do have to deal with poverty. Poverty is a weird concept to me because like I said the only time I dealt with poverty was when I was little and I don;'t remember it, but I know people can overcome it much like how the Younger family did.

What I like to read
I don't read books all that much, but I do like reading articles online. Most of the articles I read are about random topics. My favorite book is probably one of the "Harry Potter" books. My least favorite book is probably something I was forced to read in grade school.
